Learn languages on the go
Your notes become flashcards
Take a photo of your notebook, a sign or a menu. VocabNomad corrects what you jotted down in a hurry and turns it into flashcards with pronunciation and example sentences.
For Android. In the browser also on iPhone and PC.

As easy as this
Capture words
Take a photo of your notes, type a word or say it out loud. Whatever suits you on the go.
Get flashcards
The app adds what is missing: spelling, pronunciation, example sentences and how people really say it. Your original stays right next to it.
Learn whenever you like
With flashcards at your own pace. Or while you walk: the app asks, you answer out loud.
What makes VocabNomad special
Your words, not a course’s
You learn exactly what you need in daily life: at the doctor’s, at the market, with family and neighbors.
We correct what you jotted down in a hurry
Half words, typos, a missing translation: the app completes everything and shows you your original. If something is unclear, it asks you briefly.
How people actually say it
Whole expressions instead of a dictionary. You see whether a word is formal or casual and which word people use every day.
Learn while you walk, eyes up
The app reads aloud, you answer out loud and get feedback right away. On Android even with the phone in your pocket.
Your own podcast
Short episodes and stories made from your words, at the speed you like. Offline too, for example while jogging.
Your pace, your words
A daily goal instead of pressure. After a break you catch up in small portions, nice and relaxed.

Built on learning research
- Recalling a word yourself makes it stick better than reading or hearing it again (Karpicke and Roediger 2008). That is why the app asks you before it shows the answer.
- Saying words out loud helps you remember them (MacLeod and others 2010). That is why you answer with your voice while walking.
- Stories stay in your memory (Mar and others 2021). Your podcast tells them with your words.
VocabNomad puts these findings from learning research into practice.
